@Hazel - Hamster reddish urine may not necessarily mean that the hamster has bladder stones. It can just be from the food. Please check out this page by clicking here. If you still think that it is bladder stones, then an alternative to dandelion leaves is adding low levels of table salt to the water or food. Addition of a little fruit juice to salted water may improve palatability to increase consumption.

I have always like small animals and in the past have had and bred guinea pigs,lovebirds and zebra finches.Now I am retired I would like someday to raise hamsters and am especially interested in dwarf hamsters.I would not get any until next spring and am reading up on them in the meantime.
